Regenerative medicine utilizes your own natural biologics like PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), Plasma, and cellular therapies to work with your body's own healing process to reduce pain, improve mobility, and support long-term recovery.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP delivers concentrated autologous platelets containing essential growth factors including PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, and EGF. Upon injection, activated platelets release these bioactive proteins within minutes, creating a localized healing environment. The healing cascade progresses through three phases: an inflammatory phase where controlled therapeutic inflammation attracts healing cells, a proliferative phase where fibroblasts synthesize new collagen and extracellular matrix, and a remodeling phase where tissue matures and strengthens. These growth factors stimulate cell proliferation, promote angiogenesis, attract stem cells to the treatment site, and enhance collagen synthesis critical for structural tissue repair.
Plasma Protein Concentrate (PPC)
PPC includes alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M) and interleukin-1 receptor antagonist protein (IRAP). PPC aims to shield joints from ongoing inflammatory and degenerative damage while creating a more favorable environment for regeneration. Together, A2M and IRAP proteins are designed to neutralize a broad spectrum of inflammatory cytokines and cartilage-destroying enzymes found in degenerative joint disease. Rather than primarily stimulating new tissue growth (like PRP), PPC's core role is to stabilize the joint microenvironment—reducing catabolic signaling, protecting remaining cartilage, and supporting any concurrent regenerative therapies (such as PRP or stem cells).
Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC)
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) exert regenerative effects through multiple mechanisms. These multipotent cells possess self-renewal capacity and can differentiate into specialized cell types (chondrocytes, osteoblasts, tenocytes) needed for tissue-specific repair. Beyond direct differentiation, stem cells produce powerful paracrine effects by secreting signaling molecules and growth factors that stimulate surrounding healthy cells, modulate inflammation, and recruit the body's own repair cells. They also promote angiogenesis, forming new blood vessels to supply nutrients to damaged tissue, and ultimately integrate into injured areas to restore structure and function.
Storz® Focused ESWT Shockwave
Focused shockwave therapy delivers high-energy acoustic pulses to targeted tissue, creating controlled mechanical stress that activates mechanotransduction—the conversion of physical stimuli into biochemical signals. This stimulus increases cell permeability, triggers growth factor release (VEGF, BMP, TGF-β), and enhances nitric oxide production through eNOS release. The therapy promotes neovascularization by stimulating endothelial progenitor cells and angiogenesis, improving blood flow and oxygen delivery to damaged areas. Additionally, ESWT recruits and activates endogenous mesenchymal stem cells, enhancing their proliferation, migration, and homing to injury sites. Pain reduction occurs through decreased substance P expression and interruption of pain pathways.
Storz Focused Shockwave Therapy Is Coming to Eastern North Carolina
Storz Medical focused shockwave therapy uses precisely targeted acoustic pressure waves to reach deep into damaged tendons, ligaments, and joints — stimulating new blood vessel growth, breaking up scar tissue and calcification, and switching your body's own repair response back on.
- Non-surgical and drug-free — no needles, no downtime
- Focused energy reaches deep tissue conventional therapy can't
- Sessions typically take 10–15 minutes
- Used for knees, shoulders, hips, elbows, feet, and back pain

Benefits of Regenerative Medicine
Patients explore regenerative medicine because it may provide lasting pain relief and improved quality of life. Our treatments work by restoring and promoting the body's natural healing response to repair damaged tissue and reduce inflammation.
Non-surgical treatment options
Our regenerative treatments use your body's own healing mechanisms — like PRP and stem cell therapy — to repair damaged tissue without incisions, anesthesia, or hospital stays.
Reduced reliance on pain medication
By addressing the root cause of pain rather than masking symptoms, many patients are able to significantly reduce or eliminate their need for pain pills, opioids, and anti-inflammatory drugs.
Minimal downtime
Most patients return to their daily activities the same day or within 24–48 hours. There's no lengthy surgical recovery or physical therapy required.
Improved mobility and function
Regenerative medicine stimulates tissue repair at the cellular level, helping restore range of motion, flexibility, and the ability to do the things you love.
Personalized treatment plans
Every patient is unique. We create a customized protocol based on your specific condition, health history, and goals to maximize results.

Answers about regenerative medicine, costs, and what to expect
Frequently Asked Questions
Clear, honest answers to the questions patients ask most often about non-surgical joint pain treatment at QC Kinetix Greenville.
What is QC Kinetix?
QC Kinetix is a national network of regenerative medicine clinics that use non-surgical, drug-free treatments — including platelet-rich plasma (PRP), cellular therapies, peptides, and orthobiologics — to help patients reduce joint pain, improve mobility, and avoid surgery or long-term pain medication. Our Greenville, NC clinic serves patients across Eastern North Carolina.
What is regenerative medicine?
Regenerative medicine is a branch of orthopedics that uses your body's own biology — platelets, cytokines, growth factors, and cells — to help repair damaged joints, tendons, and ligaments instead of replacing them with hardware or masking pain with drugs. It is most commonly used for arthritis, tendon and ligament injuries, and persistent joint pain.
Does stem cell therapy actually work for joint pain?
Peer-reviewed studies (PubMed, NIH) show that biologic injections such as PRP and cellular therapies can meaningfully reduce pain and improve function in mild-to-moderate osteoarthritis, particularly of the knee. Results vary by patient, joint, and severity. QC Kinetix Greenville offers a free consultation to determine whether you are a good candidate.
How much does QC Kinetix cost?
Cost depends on the joint being treated, severity of the condition, and the regenerative protocol selected. Treatment plans typically range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars total. CareCredit and in-house financing are available so patients can spread the cost over time. Transparent pricing is reviewed during your free in-clinic consultation.
Is QC Kinetix covered by insurance?
Most regenerative medicine treatments are not currently covered by commercial insurance or Medicare. QC Kinetix Greenville accepts CareCredit and offers flexible financing so insurance status does not prevent you from pursuing a non-surgical option for joint pain.
How long does PRP take to work?
Most patients begin noticing improvement 2 to 6 weeks after a PRP injection, with continued gains over 3 to 6 months as the tissue remodels. A typical protocol involves a short series of injections spaced several weeks apart, depending on the joint and condition.
What areas does QC Kinetix Greenville serve?
